Dr. Frikkie Hartog is an ophthalmologist with a special interest in cataract and refractive procedures. His passion for ophthalmology and technological advancements, drives a constant improvement in results and patient satisfaction.

Dr. Jonathan Oettlé
Ophthalmic Surgeon
MBChB (Stell) Dip Ophth (SA) MMed (UCT) FCOphth (SA)
Dr. Oettle grew up on a farm in Wellington before heading to Stellenbosch for his MBChB, then to UCT for his ophthalmology residency – graduating cum laude in both his diploma and his final CMSA exams. He’s published eight peer-reviewed papers in the field, presented at both national and international congresses, and won several awards for his research.
He also set up human tissue transplant services at two hospitals and developed multiple interventions for state patients during his time at Groote Schuur. Colleagues know him as an out-of-the-box thinker and a skilled surgeon; patients know him as a kind and careful clinician.

Patient Accounts
All the patient accounts are expertly handled by Marie-Louise. Efficiency in the accounting is of immense help to the patients. Most accounts can be handled in real time to provide peace of mind. Her experience is also essential in ensuring successful interaction with medical aid funders and providing authorisations for procedures.
NAAILA SYDOW
Ophthalmic Assistant
Naaila is a trained ophthalmic assistant, and is also responsible for the booking of appointments and procedures. She assists with the performing of examinations with specialised equipment and pre-operative evaluation of patients. Her experience makes her an invaluable assistant and very proficient at providing patient education.
